General Information
Biography
Michelle received her PhD from the Stanford University Graduate School of Education in the Learning Sciences and Technology Design program. She researches computer science education, focusing on identity and interest development in young women, and on using computing to improve mathematics instruction. She teaches a CS teaching methods course and data driven decision making in education. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Michelle taught computer science and was the CS department head and technology director at the Girls Middle School in California. She was a founding member of the Computer Science Teachers Association board and an author of the Standards for CS Teachers.
